Common names are :Indian Beech tree,Karanj in Hindi and Sanskrit.
The seeds are used to make Pongamia oil which is a well known alternate fuel.It is a bio diesel and little modification is required to make generators run with this relatively inexpensive oil. Further research is being done to find cheaper extraction methods.
